Mysterious K1D spotted?

Thanks to one of my kind readers I was pointed on the weird picture of a Pentax DSLR camera with battery grip, old “Limited” lens and a brown strap with a “PRO” label. The camera itself is looks like K10D with D-BG2 grip. Nothing new in silver FA Limited as well. But the “PRO” label on the camera strap is used to say that this is upcoming pro-level (above K10D) camera.
While image doesn’t look phony and camera strap doesn’t look hand-made, camera on the picture is too similar to K10D. Also if the new pro-level DSLR was demonstrated somewhere it has the new DA* lens mounted on. What do you think?

I have heard that pentax will release cameras K20D and K200D (successors of K10D and K100D). Maybe its the K20D shown on the picture. Still there are rumours around with the 645D to be released.

Yes. Two new digital SLRs are expected this fall. May be this is K10D Super?

This strap is specially provided for only PSP(Pentax Service Proffesional) members authorized, working as pro-photographer usually. So they can receive special supports from Pentax.
And the items on the picture are just normal K10D with silver FA43 Lim.
Last, this camera is Pochi-san’s belonging, who is one of most famous blogger in Japan.

Thank you, JimmyD.
So the mystery solved :)

A hoax to be sure.
The shadows in the “stamped” PRO look more like overlaid fonts than actual stamping. Additionally, there is a slight buldge underneath the “R” yet the “R” remains straight.

This is not a hoax. See JimmyD’s comment above.

I don’t see the K10 and k100 being replaced that soon. The K100 super is
barely out and they need a product cycle longer than a few months.
It makes more sense to expect a unit above (at least in price) the K10 with
these units sliding down the pole a ways perhaps with price adjustments to keep them competitive. I don’t see a chance of making a 6mp digital materially better
than the K100. the world doesn’t need a ‘great new 6 mp’ SLR from pentax unless they could get some production economies from making a stripped high end SLR as their low end machine. It makes a lot more sense to spend the R and D money making a to top end camera and push the older ones down the line until they fall off the back side.
The real urgent thing with Pentax is to get the lens family out. Folks who buy
SLR bodies are POW of the lens mount, but if there aren’t any lenses for the mount you aren’t going to ring the bell. Simply selling bodies to people with legacy lens collections is a marketing plan doomed to fail as soon everyone
who has a legacy collection will have a body and you are out of business.
The SDM is exciting, but they need to deliver—soon.

Here’s a link I came across on a Flickr board, it seems to be something about the K20D? It’s all in Chinese, so… I’m calling out the inner Chinese in everyone and maybe we can piece by piece Kung Fu a translation. Yes.

I’ve been using my K10D joyously with a 40 Limited for a couple of months now. I’ve stopped using zooms at all and I have not used ANYTHING that gives pictures of the quality I get from the K10D + 40 Ltd
Sure the Pentax lens range is much smaller than say Canon/Nikon, but it’s DIFFERENT and INTERESTING. Superb macro lens (50mm and 100mm). Superb pancake lenses (40mm and 70mm) and a jolly decent, cheap and incredibly compact tele zoom (the 50-200) - and they are all modern DA type lenses with quick shift focus. Can’t say fairer than that.
