Canadian photographer Pasquale Marco Veltri has run the marathon in Mississauga (sponsored by Canon, by the way) with his Pentax K10D and a “small wide-angle lens”. His series of images “Inside the Run” capturing the marathon participant’s point-of-view rather than view from the sidewalk. K10D has shown its best under trying conditions, both for camera and photographer.

Benjamin Kanarek – shooting pro who recently switched from Canon to Pentax. You can find his stunning fashion photography works here and here.
A while ago he shared his post processing technique with the DPreview forum readers.
First of all, you need to convert your PEF or DNG without any sharpening and export it to Photoshop (or save as TIFF or PSD to load it to Photoshop later). If you shoot in JPEG directly, use Neutral settings, but shooting RAW will give you much better results. Load your PSD or TIFF into Photoshop and apply Unsharp Mask (USM) filter with the following settings:

Being a frequent traveler, André Klaassen spent a lot of time above the Earth. In the comfortable airline seat near the window you have a poor choice of ways to entertain yourself – just staring into the window or taking great photographs. André chose the second way. Check out his blog “The Windowseat”.

Today I have passed by the superb macro gallery at PBase – “A Yard is More Than Three Feet” by Stephen C. Gushue. Several pages of great macro works. Bees, wasps, spiders and other dwellers of the tiny world under our feet. And all shots were taken on the small square of usual backyard. Stephen using Pentax *istDL, K100D and Sigma 180mm F3.5 Macro to take this pictures.

IXBT forum user Serenki have posted some photos made with Pentax *istDS + Pentax FA 77mm F1.8 lens. I like the gorgeous bokeh effect in this picture. The foliage in the out of DOF areas looks stunning. Perspective is very deep. All pictures looks very 3D.

Recently I have found an interesting page at pbase.com. This is San Diego Fashion & Lifestyle Show photo report by Derek Leung. The photos are spectacular, and even though they are all made with Pentax *istDS and Sigma 30mm F/1.4 EX DC large aperture prime lens. This little (but pretty expensive) Sigma is a nice walk-around normal (46mm in full-frame terms) prime and it gives amazingly shallow DOF. Look at the pictures here and here – the DOF and “bokeh” are very good.
